Lippe Detmold eine wunderschöne Stadt ....

Maybe I should post in German too? Hmmm ... need to think about that

In the mean time ... Mama and I are visiting my sister Christine in the beautiful German town of Detmold! We spent the morning shopping on a REAL old fashioned open air market. You know real vegetables and such !!??!! We sat in an ice cream parlor with a view right over the stalls. Watching people is something I could do all day!

Last night we all went to a concert "Organ meets Jazz" here in Detmold. Interesting. I knew I liked Jazz and love Organ music. It was interesting to hear the two together.

We went shopping for a new digital TV and found one ... so Mama is amazed as to HOW brilliant the picture is. I wonder how long the old one had been on the way out ;)

I got my first birthday present today ... a new compact digital camera - thank you !! And my birthday is not until August LoL ....

And we had Heringsstip and Bratkartoffeln ... and later ice cream.

And then we went home to install the new TV... What a nice day!

Now I need to go and work on the quiz for Sunday. Just the right thing to do before retiring!

Today I made the decision

Got up this morning ... happy my bones work again ... and had another look at the blog. Decided, as much as I liked the template I used, it was not very user friendly as it made it hard to read the text.

So I changed to an old template called "Stretch Denim" ... I like it ... what do you think?

So this morning Mama and I will go shopping and see if we can find her a new TV. Her old old old one has no read any more and is really no fun to watch at all!

And tonight we will have to write a quiz ;) But more about that after Sunday ... don't want to give the game away too soon.

I am here in Germany primarily for my grandson Simon's confirmation. Amazing how time flies. I remember Simon as a little one in the push chair. And now he is a handsome 14 year old amazing boy! Wow ...

Right ... must get off the keyboard and go shopping ....

the big adventure is over ... and NEVER AGAIN... well to be fair... it could have been worse!
But why are bus stations soooo abysmal?

First I had to wait an hour in Bristol Bus Station ... Not anything like enough seats, one outlet for lousy coffee ... no left luggage facility (had there been I would have gone shopping)

Then I boarded a lovely half empty bus (two seats for me!) and we went to London Victoria ... which is just as abysmal a bus stations!

It took me an hour and a half to get a seat. To find the booking in was hard (boy was that place well hidden) and the place was filthy! Pigeons flying around and at you all the time and begging for food and getting it... and then predictably doing what pigeons do when the have eaten! YukYukYuk  and nobody seems to be interested in cleaning anything. The place needs fumigating!

After hours hanging about in this hell hole, there was another fantastic bus. The original bus had broken down and they had to bring a new bus. This turned out to be a brand new VIP bus! WOW ... amazing leg room, reclining seats and real comfortable! Brilliant - even though the drivers seemed to be somewhat cheesed off at having to drive us common folk!

Off we go to the ferry - no not the tunnel. Then on the other side stops in Lille, Brussels, Düsseldorf and a petrol station etc.

Arriving in Dortmund I was nearly sorry to have to leave this bus! JUST missed the train ... argh ... Another hour waiting for the local train to Iserlohn ... Jungle express ... don't pick flowers while train in motion!
And then I am with Mama !!! Hurrah ... Journey's end ... could have been worse ... was OK!

Now for a drink ... hurrah a glass of wine waiting for me! ... and a stretch of the stiff joints!

Can't wait ...

I am all exited! Tomorrow I am off on an adventure. I am taking a bus trip to Germany to see my Mama. Hmm ... ok 24 hrs travel is not much fun, but so worth it!
I shall stay with Mama for a couple of weeks and help celebrate my grandson Simon's confirmation! Really looking forward to that! A LOT ...!
Then Mama is coming back here with me to spend a couple of weeks here. Again I am soooo looking forward to that. Thankfully we will come back here on the plane. One endless bus journey is enough I think!
So ... I shall maybe be a bit quiet around here.
Stan and the pooch are staying behind. And I shall miss them a lot! Hope they will be OK!

Here we are ... my husband Stan with our little dog Kusje and me ... 

Kusje is a Coton de Tulear ... and he is sooooo bright. But ... he won't be left alone. You would not believe the mess he makes in the house, when we leave him (and I don't mean him destroying anything - he deposits protest presents!) and when we leave him in the car he barks and barks for hours. Still ... he is cute, isn't he?

My sister mentioned that she reacted allergic to all metal in jewelery. That inspired me to make this necklace. No metal what so ever.  

Well I give in ...

For quite a time I have been thinking about a blog. And actually started one. But ... Well I am not into regular contributions and writing every day ... or maybe not even every week.
Still, I want to have somewhere to talk about stuff, show off some of my work ... Well you know what I mean! So here goes!
